TikTok Recipes in Action: Easy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
December 12, 2020
We are all at home these days because of the pandemic and remote school, and the way many of Gen-Z has been aiding this boredom has been with using the popular social media app TikTok. The short sixty-second clips featuring a variety of topics including dances, fitness, pets, singing, and cooking/baking.
Recently I saw a TikTok of an easy oatmeal chocolate-chip cookie recipe, containing only five ingredients!
Ingredients: Recipe yields 12 cookies
– 2 cups of oats, oat flour, or both
– ½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 1 ripe banana (mashed)
– splash of almond milk (about ¼ of a cup)
– honey/maple syrup
Step 1: Mash banana
Step 2: If you would like more of a cookie consistency use oat flour (if you do not have oat flour, you can use a blender and blend the whole oats into a powder consistency; I split the recipe, ½ oat flour, and ½ whole oats)
Step 3: Combine mashed banana and oats of your choice
Step 4: Add a splash of almond milk
Step 5: Add sweetener (optional)
Step 6: Combine ½ cup of chocolate chips
Step 7: Roll each part of the dough and press down into a circular shape
Step 7: Cook on a non-stick baking sheet at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes
